Daarul Hikmah is the Islamic modern boarding school at North Tangerang. Founded in 1997 by Ustadz K.H. Afif Afify who was graduated from ITTC Gontor Ponorogo in 1972 making Daarul Hikmah included in one of the ‘Pondok Alumni’ based on KMI (Kulliyatul Mu’alimin Al-Islamiyah) education system.

At the beginning of its establishment, Daarul Hikmah open two levels of education that is Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Junior High School) and Madrasah Aliyah (Senior High School).

They also organize the education pattern of two systems, namely those who settled in dormitories as Santri and who only attend formal school without staying in dormitories. It is because there is still limited dorm room to accommodate students who register. Until finally, in 2009 and present Daarul Hikmah changed the system to a full boarding for all Santri. 

The institution with the motto of morality, able-bodied, knowledgeable, and free – thinking is hoping to give birth to a cadre of Muslims who will be as ‘Teacher’ Mundzir al-Qaum.

The activity in this place begin at 4 am and just end at 10 pm, in addition to formal school activities in Daarul Hikmah there are also many extracurricular activities that must be followed by all its students like ; Muhadhoroh (public speaking training) in three language Arabic, English, and Bahasa. And also Scout training. Besides there are many clubs which may choose by students, like marching band, music, Marawis, Hadrah, Pencak silat, Football club, Basketball club, calligraphy, etc. 

The parents of the students able to visit their kid in every Sunday when the formal school activities are off. They may gathered or meet the student at a place provided by Daarul Hikmah management. The students of Daarul Hikmah are not just learning about formal science and religion but also to be a leader and being a part in student organization named OSDA (Organisasi Siswa Daarul Hikmah) and also Scout Movement.
